Who can be defined as a full artist?
The answer can come from a combination of signs and ideas, as one of the many anagrams with which Ennio Morricone celebrates his name and his art with "STANDARDS WITH IRONIES".
The key is in the continuous, balanced combination of pleasure and creativity, passion and commitment.
He is an extraordinary man and artist and also an Italian excellence that embodies all of the aspects of making music from the Fifties to the present day, between the music itself and the music for cinema.
Franco Piersanti is a unique historical composer of film soundtracks in an Italian and European overview. His music has nostalgic tones, echoes of melodies, rhythms and distant cultures, but also strong and harsh tones which bring back to Stravinsky’s style. In his background we can mention soundtracks for movies directed by Nanni Moretti, Gianni Amelio, Ermanno Olmi, Emanuele Crialese and Alberto Sironi for the soundtrack of a popular Italian TV series fiction"Commissario Montalbano".
In the last 40 years, more than a hundred of films produced for cinema and TV have his music contribution, with important awards such as three “David of Donatello”, two “Nastro d'Argento” and seven “Ciak d'Oro”.
Franco Piersanti on his own compositional research says: "I’ve been always careful not to fall into a certain rhetoric that, very often and easily can result when music and image are merged together”
I've always tried to treat with reserve the emotions and let them express freely and clearly and when it’s time to reveal them I’ve always preferred to hide, abstract from them and move away from the emotional subject "
Albino Taggeo is a musician and composer and has always been the Artistic Director of the Award
involved in cultural projects of national importance.
His works for theater, surreal and grotesque at the same time, draw inspiration from a strong bond
with the Sicilian culture of the origins, through mythological references (Alfeo and Aretusa) and poetic
(Theocritus and his Idylls), but also pass from a deep admiration for Pasolini (with
the Opera Uccellacci and Uccellini) and a great interest in Shakespearean theater (in particular
for the King Lear).
He is a prominent figure in the contemporary music scene, President of the New Association Consonance of Rome and member of the European Film Academy.
He is currently working with important directors such as Pupi Avati or Carlo Lizzani, Lina Wertmüller and Margarethe von Trotta.
He collaborated in New York with the Aaron Copland foundation House, as an "anomalous" composer in the European scene, holding seminars and workshops conferences on the relationship between the composition for the cinema and the concert hall.
Lucio Gregoretti on the composition for the cinema says:
"In some aspects, it is a relaxing activity if we compare it with "well-read"composition, and it requires a different approach. Creating music for cinema or theater is not just about a self expression of the artist, but is getting in tune with the director, trying to understand what the director is willing to communicate, and help him to make concrete what he has in mind through music. "
Lucio Gregoretti will take part of the commission for the Premio Musica Nova.
Claudio Paradiso, a multifaceted personality, passionately dedicated to concert performances, musicological research and teaching, as well as the promotion of eminent initiatives of public awareness for the preservation of our musical heritage.
In 1990 Maestro Paradiso founded the prestigious "Fiati di Parma" orchestra, one of the chamber orchestras throughout Europe. Under his direction, the ensemble has explored a vast repertoire ranging from the Baroque to the nineteenth-century tradition, up to contemporary language of specially commissioned works.
He recorded for Amadeus, EdiPan, Editions De Santis, EMI-Academie de Musique de Sion (directed by Tibor Varga), The Classic Voice is recorded for All India Radio, Canale 5, Radio de la Suisse Romande, Radiotelevisione Italiana, RadioTre, Vatican Radio, Suddeutsche Rundfunk and UER - European Union of Broadcasting, exceeding 100,000 copies of CDs sold.
During his career, he has always been involved in musicological research and edited the precious volume Il flauto in Italia (the
flute in Italy). He coordinated study groups for the first biography on Luigi Hugues, Teodulo Mabellini, and Arrigo Tassinari and is the creator and promoter of the DMI - Dictionary of Music in Italy, a very important online encyclopedic national project based on overcoming the idea of universal knowledge versus a more restricted idea of local knowledge.
Pianist, composer, choir and orchestra conductor, has dealt with much of the choral symphonic repertoire with particular attention to 20th century music.
He has worked several years with Ennio Morricone as choirmaster and conductor for Italian and foreign productions. He is currently his assistant.
Stefano Cucci is the author of the book "Lontane Presenze ... l’universo poetico di Ennio Morricone" (Distant presences ... the poetic universe of Ennio Morricone) which is entirely dedicated to Maestro Morricone. The text investigates with extreme clarity the last twenty-five years of the creative journey of the great Master.
Since 1986 he is the creator and Artistic Director of the San Leo Festival, a high standing chamber and symphonic review in the cultural scene of the Adriatic Riviera.
He is the Music Director of the “Pentarte Ensemble”, a training that has always been dedicated to the repertoire of the
Twentieth century historical and of today's music.

In the project take part the most high music representatives of University of Lazio and the directors of three Music Conservatories: Alberto Giraldi (Director of the Licinio Refice Conservatory - Frosinone), Paolo Rotili (ex-Director and Coordinator in Composition and Direction at the Conservatory Ottorino Respighi – Latina).
